Dr. Elena Rizzo

Biography

Growing up in Wyckoff, NJ, I remember bringing my pets to the doctors at Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital. They always took care of my animals like one of their own; we shared many laughs and tears, and they served as role models for the type of veterinarian I wanted to emulate as I grew older.

I started at Rutgers University, where I received my bachelor of science in animal science with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine and research and a minor in equine science. Then, I attended Michigan State University and received my doctorate of veterinary medicine. With a desire to be close to my family (and bagels), I moved back to NJ and joined FLAH.

My veterinary interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology, and preventative medicine. I am so grateful to work with a team who shares the same passion to positively impact and care for our fur patients and their owners.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time weight lifting, reading, and hiking with my boyfriend and our husky, Goten. I also love to spoil my rabbit, Cannoli.
