Dr. Veronica Hudson

Biography

I knew from a very early age that I wanted to become a veterinarian, but it wasn’t until I caught early heart failure in one of my cats (due to subtle breathing changes) as a teenager that I truly knew it was my calling. With this goal in mind, I pursued my undergraduate studies at Montclair State University where I received bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Psychology. Shortly thereafter, I was accepted to the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow in Scotland and the next five years were spent achieving a Bachelor’s in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVMS), which is the European equivalent of a veterinary degree in the United States. A Jersey girl at heart, I moved back to the states post-graduation and completed an internship in veterinary medicine and surgery at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners-Downtown (formerly Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists) in New York City. Afterwards, I spent some time in general practice before joining the staff at Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital in 2013.

My veterinary interests include dentistry and internal medicine with a special interest in diabetes management. I am happy to be working alongside a wonderful team at FLAH where everyone’s dedication and compassion combine to provide exceptional care for all pets.

When not in the office, I enjoy spending time outdoors running, biking, and playing tennis. I also enjoy traveling and trying out new dining experiences whenever possible. I am very lucky to share a home and quality cuddles with two pampered cats, Kori and Lia, and a (mostly) equally spoiled husband, Dan.
